Karatasi Collective

Karatasi Collective is a collaborative making practice founded as an extension of Karatasi Studio. Through the Collective, I work with skilled artisans to translate my ongoing research into handmade paper, material culture, and sustainable design into tangible objects.

These include notebooks, paper, boxes, and other paper-based forms. While each piece is crafted collaboratively, the research, creative direction, and design decisions originate within my individual practice as a creative practitioner, exploring how handmade materials can carry memory, culture, and everyday use.

The Collective allows the studio’s research to move from exploration into form, creating objects that support writing, drawing, archiving, and creative life.

Rooted in care, skill, and material curiosity, this work continues long-standing traditions of handmade paper while testing their relevance for contemporary practice.
